VOLO Cloud Access Control is a highly scalable and flexible cloud-based access control solution, specifically designed to offer centralised control and remote management of multi-site premises and operations. With connectivity achieved over either the LAN or 2G GSM/GPRS mobile network.
The VOLO 837-500 model is the Master Access Controller device and can be used in conjunction with a maximum of 24 additional Expansion controller units to connect up to 50 readers.
With scope for over 100,000 users per controller and over 10,000 sites all connected around the flexibility of a LAN or 2g GSM/GPRS mobile connection, VOLO provides seamless integration of the most remote and separate site locations and applications.
VOLO's connection options of LAN or 2g GSM/GPRS offer huge flexibility in terms of access to remote locations whereby power is the only service required for VOLO to operate. This is further enhanced by offer real cost savings versus the alternatives of installing ADSL or Fibre.
The ACU will store up 4,000 events locally in the event of a loss of connection to the Amazon Web Services Cloud, ensuring no loss of event data.
What makes up a VOLO cloud-based access solution?
VOLO consists of three parts:
1. Access Control Units (ACUs):
Provide the hardware interface for each site or premises, facilitating the implementation and management of access control functionalities.
2. VOLO Cloud:
Enables installers and end-users to access and log in from any standard web browser, including smartphones, tablets, or PCs. This platform provides the capability to configure, administer, and manage the access control solution remotely.
3. VOLO Licences:
Facilitate continuous connectivity and access to the Access Control Units. This connectivity can be established through either an Ethernet or GSM/GPRS connection, ensuring ongoing and reliable communication within the system.
