Product Description

The QU-14S-4K22 Distribution Amplifier is a 1 In, 4 Out HDMI signal splitter, providing identical AV signals to two separate HDMI outputs/screens.

This latest version is HDMI v1.4 compliant and fully supports HD Audio, 4K Resolution, 3D Video, Deep Colour and the latest HDCP version 2.2.

HDMI signals from the 4 outputs can be transmitted over distances of up to 20 metres at a buffered rate of 1080p/8-bit and can be cascaded up to 3 layers.

The CYP QU-14S-4K22 1 to 4 Splitter is ideal for both commercial and residential AV applications where a single HDMI source (such as BluRay player or Sky Box) can be simultaneously displayed on two separate screens or TVs.

The QU-14S-4K22 also allows the HDMI signal transmission distance to be increased from the limits of a 15 metre cable, in effect, adding a 'signal boost' which will allow 15 metres from the AV source to the Splitter and then a further 15-20 metres from the Splitter to each of the two output displays.

This product is also available as a 1 In, 42 Out Distribution Amplifier version, Part No, QU-12S-4K22.

What is HDCP version 2.2?
HDCP (or High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) is a content protection technology which is designed to prevent digital AV content being copied whilst it is being transmitted between a source and display device.
HD content (for instance from a BluRay, DVD or streaming device) is usually HDCP encrypted and will, therefore, only play on HDCP-licensed devices).
This latest version - HDCP 2.2 - has been developed to support UHD 4K content. Therefore, in the future, as we start to play / stream UHD content, it is likely to be HDCP 2.2 protected which will mean that any devices on an AV system which are licensed to an earlier version of HDCP will not play the latest UHD content!
Latest HDCP version 2.2 compliant devices such as the CYP QU-14S-4K22 are backwards compatible (ie. they will support content protected by previous HDCP versions), but if you're installing a new Audio Visual system, this is a great way to future-proof your system in advance of Ultra HD content becoming more widely available over the next few years.
