The 2N 916010 Access Unit is a contactless access control unit which allows for access to electronically secured doors using an RFID card or NFC enabled smart phone as the user ID device.
All users with access to the building are supplied with either an RFID card/pass or can use their NFC (Near Field Communication)-enabled smart phone, which is simply offered in close proximity to the 2N Access Unit for fast, simple, secure access.
Combining the latest IP technology with high grade, rugged materials and construction, the 2N 916010 Access Unit provides contact-free access to the building when connected to 2N or third party door lock mechanisms.
This unit functions as a stand-alone access device, but can be expanded to feature a numerical keypad, backlit info panel, or any other 2N Verso range module. Each option requires additional mounting / finishing components in order to complete the device.
The 2N 916010 Access Unit is primarily designed for use indoors or protected outdoor areas, having an IP54 protection rating.
As a stand alone contactless access control device, the 916010 also requires a cover plate (Part No. 9155021). Power is supplied either via PoE or external power supply (Part No. 91341481E)
Use of NFC in practice
Using a 2N IP video intercom with an NFC reader or 2N Access Unit at your main entrance means a mobile phone user with the 2N Mobile Key application will be able to use their phone as an access card to the building. On placing their mobile phone against the device on the wall, they will be identified and subsequently allowed or denied access to the building.
How does NFC work?
Advanced NFC (Near Field Communication) technology allows 2-way wireless communication between electronic devices. The devices communicate over a short distance (usually to a maximum of 4 cm). It is precisely this very short range that is the main prerequisite for the security of this technology.
What does NFC offer?
Aside from greater security / reliability and financial savings, you reduce the inconvenience of cases when an employee forgets or loses their access card: they simply open the door with the aid of their telephone with the 2N® Mobile Key application.
NFC License
If using the NFC functionality of this product an NFC License Part No.916012 is required.
*End-Point I.P License Keys
Please note that license keys may need to be purchased based on the number of IP End Points on the system.
